archive entry #007: a letter never sent

Writer: Ann Marie Harris

This document was recovered from the ruins of an unnamed kingdom.

No signature survives.

The intended recipient remains unknown.

If this letter reaches you...

Then perhaps there is still time.

Something is changing.

At first it was small.

A familiar face I could not remember.

A road that no longer led where it once had.

A castle that appeared on the horizon, though no one else recalled it being there.

Now entire conversations vanish from memory before they are finished.

People speak names that belong to no one.

Children tell stories that have not yet happened.

Yesterday I found a page inside my favorite book.

It was blank.

Today...

The words returned.

But they were not the same.

If you remember me...

Please keep remembering.

I fear forgetting is contagious.

And I no longer trust my own story.

If I disappear...

Promise me you will look beneath Wonderland.

That is where this began.

I think.

Or perhaps...

That is simply where I first noticed it.

---

The remained of the letter has been lost.
