archive entry #006: the forgotten ones

Not every story is remembered.

Most simply...fade.

Readers grow older.

Books gather dust.

Entire kingdoms disappear from memory.

But stories do not truly die.

Beyond the edge of every finished tale lies another place.

A place where abandoned characters wait.

Some were forgotten before their stories could begin.

Others were written out entirely.

A prince with no kingdom.

A dragon no hero ever faced.

A witch whose spell was erased before anyone could fear it.

They remain there still.

Watching.

Waiting.

The Archives once believed these forgotten souls harmless.

Recent evidence suggests otherwise.

Several unidentified individuals have crossed into known realms carrying memories that do not belong to them.

None possess complete histories.

None appear in surviving records.

Yet each insists they were once part of a story.

Perhaps they are telling the truth.

After all...

Being forgotten is not the same thing as never existing.
